Education Works

In addition to our civic work with rural leaders across the country, we are also pursuing strategic investment and donations for our Building the Rural Strong Network - focused on community literacy, awareness and development - through our education-related advocacy work with community leaders, organizations and government agencies in rural areas, small towns and marginalized communities. Within these communities, we will also collaborate with local schools and libraries to help promote community awareness and information accessibility given that libraries often serve as the heart of community life, and offer a range of services and resources that are essential for community well-being and development such as providing educational materials; access to broadband; hosting of workshops; promoting literacy, and providing spaces where the community gathers, meets and participates in social events - all of which serve to strengthen communities and promote homegrown prosperity.
As a part of our Education Works, and for small donations to the Rural Strong Network, we have developed the following programs to help the community: "Rural Readers Storytime Hour," where our volunteers work with local libraries to read children's books to children; "Back to School In a Box." where we provide back to school supplies in a box to under resourced children; and RSN "Friends of the Library," where our volunteers assist local libraries in the conducting of library programs for the community.
